We live on this planet to gain experience. We are really a consciousnesses that I call the true self. When we incarnate or reincarnate, the true self takes on a body and a mind. These two are not who we really are. Once we are born, the mind begins to learn. It develops an ego and then it begins to take over. The true self becomes hidden or obscured. In a nutshell, the process of enlightenment is to remove the obscurity hiding the true self. Once that fully happens, we become enlightened.

The problem is that this process is not easy. The process is called the path. It is a path to knowledge.
