That title is a pretty bold statement. But, while there are other parts to enlightenment and finding your true self, it is only possible to get there through mediatation.
As I said before, this is not the kind of meditation for relaxation. Guided meditation to remove blocks will come and I will have more on those later too. The key to doing proper meditation is to learn how to still the mind. In the beginning, this may be a little nerve wracking as most people are dependent on their minds. In fact, that’s a large part of the problem. As we grow older from childhood, we are convinced that we are our minds. We have an ego that is part of the mind. It makes up our world. But, to find your true self, we must still it so that the true self is revealed. In the beginning, you may feel a certain disconnect once the mind goes quiet. That is normal. As you meditate, you mind will keep encroaching bringing up all sorts of distractions. Do not get frustrated or upset by this. Just let the thoughts come in and go out. Do not dwell on them. Eventually, you will be able to meditate for longer periods with a still mind. After a while, you may go for an hour or more in such stillness. What happens next is the subject of my next post.
